Breakout Groups Overview
In our workshop, we aim to foster deeper conversations on the topics outlined by our esteemed speakers. To achieve this, we have organised breakout groups, each designed to delve into specific areas of interest and promote meaningful dialogue among participants.

Facilitator Role
Each breakout group will be assigned a dedicated facilitator. The role of the facilitator is crucial to the success of the discussions. They will:
- Guide Conversations: Ensure that the discussion stays on topic and that all participants have the opportunity to contribute.
- Collect Notes: Meticulously document the key points, ideas, and conclusions that arise during the discussions.
- Share Conclusions: After the workshop, the facilitator will share the group’s conclusions on the workshop’s website. This step is vital for enabling wider collaboration within the scientific community.
Objectives
By assigning facilitators and structuring the breakout groups, we aim to:
- Promote Inclusivity: Ensure that every participant, whether they are industry leaders, academic luminaries, emerging scientists, or new voices in machine learning for genomics, has a platform to share their insights.
- Foster Collaboration: Encourage the exchange of ideas and collaboration, which may lead to novel research directions and breakthroughs.
- Amplify Impact: Share the collective knowledge and findings from the breakout groups with the broader scientific community, facilitating further discussion and development in the field.
Anticipated Outcomes
Through these breakout groups and the facilitator-led discussions, we expect to:
- Generate Innovative Ideas: Spark new research questions and ideas that can advance the field of machine learning and genomics.
- Build Networks: Strengthen connections among participants, fostering a collaborative network that extends beyond the workshop.
- Enhance Knowledge Sharing: Provide a platform for ongoing dialogue and knowledge exchange, benefiting the wider scientific community.
By structuring our workshop in this manner, we aim to create an environment where all voices are heard, innovative ideas are nurtured, and collaborative efforts are amplified for the advancement of machine learning in genomics.
