Sam Davis

Sam is a Principal Scientist on the machine learning team at Oxford Nanopore, dedicated to advancing the quality and throughput of Oxford Nanopore’s sequencing technology. He leads the development of next-generation basecallers, guiding innovative models from research through to production. His recent contributions include the transformer basecaller architecture and the Q30 accuracy simplex model, the latter announced at Oxford Nanopore’s recent London Calling 2024 Update.
